SGS HK LTD

Horray! I have worked in the above company for 3 months already, starting to see myself taking up more responsibilties and roles at the workplace. Soon I will be getting my custom made SGS windbreaker with my name stitched on the right sleeves of the jacket from the company! Guitar lesson was fun and today had a very very nice sushi dinner at Tsim Sha Tsui with Siu Man and friends of the MIFC-HK. Three of them are such a group of funny people, nice to be able to meet up new friends and getting to know more friends in HK, so happy.

It's a sunny day

The weather seems good today after the typhoon in the past few days, finally I got to see the sun this morning, however today is not as hot as 1 week ago. Went to work as usual, then back to the department of my company, felt that probably today would not have alot of things to do and able to leave early. Towards 5pm, things started to pile up and alot need to be done and most of the things are in urgent, there were many times where I was about to plan to leave and yet suddenly works just came in and need alot of follow up to this and that. Today get to learn more things about the work flow of wet digestion from my colleague, as he is going to leave the company at the beginning of September and I will be the one taking over his work (including XRF screening and wet digestions). Hopefully will be able to change my job status from contract to permanent and will get promotion soon in the future.

Typhoon
Typhoon signal no.3 since yesterday, went for movie today after work, then upon going home, the bus arrived at the bus stop, suddenly the rain started to pour again. yes, the rain technically was pouring, so heavy and within 1 minute i am half wet, while i was UNDER the bus shelter WITH my umbrella being open...straightaway wanted to take a taxi, because obviously I cant walk home, though it only takes 5 mins to walk, but then after got in the taxi, upon reaching home, there is a big tree fallen, completely acroos the whole road, so the taxi cant move in, therefore the taxi driver need to make one big round to enter my apartment from the other side of the road, and after i got off, cost me HKD$42, which actually will take me 5 mins of walk or about HKD$15 of NORMAL taxi fare from where i got in the taxi. Don't under estimate the power of nature.

Taichi Nakamura(bluesofa)

I LOVE YOU 無法不愛你 BABY 說你也愛我
I LOVE YOU 永遠不願意 BABY 失去你

I LOVE YOU ( YES I DO )

愛你 ( YES I DO) 我愛你

REPEAT*#

If cant see the wordings, change the encoding to Big5, thanks

Dear Lord

Instead of asking you why..may be I should accept the fact? Avoiding and trying to disbelief is not the way that you want us to be, but just trusting u that there are better plans in our lives and I fully aware of that. May be this is your punishment for me to learn some lessons? Whatever it is, I still praise you and love you, for if you dun first love me, how could I able to love my family, my friends and bel...it is you that right now I should focus on, for your love is the love which is worth giving of my praises with songs.

p.s: First seek the kingdom of God and everything shall be added unto you..

Women are from Venus, Men are from Mars???
Went to buy this book, but its chinese version, guess probably could help me to get to know women better...hmm application should be on "her". Seriously, you will NEVER 100% understand ur woman, even after your marriage...no joke...that book is more of a self-improvement book. Going to work tmrw after church, and yea I know it's sunday, so what? Today I even worked till 6:30pm and today is Saturday...This is working life, and no doubt I don't have many friends here, gf not here, so I am very free to work, but recently register for a electric guitar course, so that I will learn more about electric guitar skill, rather than just working non-stop.

Why

Tonight is the first time feeling blue after I have been in HK for more than 2 months...Probably life is so much faster, so much things to do, not much time to think for other things, so ended up don't even know I have been working for close to 2 months soon...I guess the main thing is because I miss her, don't really know when can we actually physically together...

England got into 1st in group B, playing against Ecucador on Sunday night, will watch that match...Tomorrow and Sunday is my working day, more $$$, but abit tired. Well..I have no choice...

Yeah, World Cup 06

The World Cup will only happens once every 4 years, 4 years ago I was still studying in my pre-U, 4 years later, I am working iN HK now...How time flies. World Cup is the most happening event of the whole universe, even more happening than Olympics, F1 and the Commonwealth games. Why? I guess is because of all the soccer superstars from all around the world gather at one place and fight for the "cup".

And I of course support England, (additional fact is also because I am a UK citizen, plus born in H.K- was once governed by English people) but I would like to watch Brazil as well, since everyone knows that Ronaldinho is almost "god-like" for soccer, just see how the way he moves and his ability to control the ball. Went to bought the England Jersey, I had the red one for previous World cup, without any numbers and words. This time, with my own earned $$$, bought a white long sleeves jersey, no.7, which is Beckham, not because I "love" him, no doubt his passings (long & short) are very accurate, long shoots and free kicks are also a big danger to opponent team. No.7 seems to be my "lucky no." therefore I bought no.7.

Working was good, have been working for more than one month already, things are moving smoothly, though always busy and working days and nights, but I am able to flow together with the company, with colleagues and with my work. On Friday, worked from 9am till 12am..becase of a suddent emergency situation, one particular of one stuff need to be rushed, and that night took taxi back home and going to claim from the company. (Of course got 200% permission, because they asked me to work till that late, not my will.) Saturday finally got my HK driving FULL license, but the license looks abit "simple", unlike Aussie driving license...so from now onwards, I am not Probational anymore (no more [P] on the windscreen). Today also went to work, because will get paid and it's at the rate of x1.5...

World Cup is going to spice up everyone's daily routine, and to me going to watch some of the awesome matches, no matter what...

Just came back from Joey Yung- 容祖兒 concert tonight. It was good! Together with the Moravian Philharmonic together about 60 of them from Czech Rep. The whole concert with alot of slow songs rather than fast songs and her voice is really sweet and nice to listen when she sings. 姚玨 plays with her violin very well too, more like going for orchestra concert than just a normal pop songs concert. The best thing is I went there by myself.

Soon will update more about my new job and stuff...

Yay!!!

Recieved an job offerend from SGS HK limited, that multinational commerical testing laboraroty company contacted me last night. Asking me to go for work on next Monday. Don't have many holidays, only 7days...well i guess is like that..But since its a big big company, i guess i will learn alot of things too. Salary wont post here, but apparently acceptable. Working shift is 15:00- 23:00, starting work at 09:00; Sat work whole day at alternatively week, Sun no need to work. The best thing is Overtime will get paid differently...

Will be working in a commercial lab, doing all the testing, verification and certify commercial products for all sorts and different kind of commerical companies in HK. For example, testing of the quantity of heavy metals in a toy using all the chemical expensive instruments...

Back to what I have been up to...have been working temporary as exhibition helper, but on Mon, I worked for the first 15 hours in a day of my whole life, it was quite tiring, but in the still survive..haha. Working non-stop since 2 weeks ago, though its temporary job and pay by per hour, but will get quite a good pay for working throughout this 2 weeks..hahaha

Rainstorm

Monday midnight, got thunderstom and rain so heavy till the weather department need to put up the black rainstorm at the middle of the night (which is the highest warning). Then when I woke up for work at 6am, it was lowered to yellow rainstorm warning which is lowest and inbetween there is this red rain storm warning. Still remember when I was young, I afraid of thunder, so I will hug my only moomoo puppet and use my small handmade pillow by mummy to cover my ear...

Yesterday went for another interview at Queen Mary Hospital. It last for 5 minutes only. The job prosect doesnt interest me much, its just handle blood sample, extract white blood cells, data base maintaining and extract the DNA of the blood cells.. Imagine doing that for 365 days. Salary also not that interesting as well. So I have decided if SGS want to employ me, I will just go ahead for that one. At least will be doing some test for heavy metals in commercial products in commercial labs. It will be hectic, but I remember i can work efficiently and can work quite fast, therefore it shouldnt be an issue.

Surprisingly enough, last night after logged off from work at exhibition centre (last day for household exhibition), that SGS HR guy 9the one who interviewd me) called me and asked me how's my interview. I told him so and so, then he knows I am more keen on working with them, so he said he will tell the supervisor and reply me later. So this is it, today no work till Thurs, and may be on Fri will be working for another exhibition fair. At the meantime want to do my own stuff and see how things goes, but at least working for exhibiton can earn some $$$.

Life Continues

Started work on Thursday as a exhibition helper or worker. $40 per hour, of course in HKD, not USD or Euro. First day did some moving boxes and unpacking and placing on the central display area. In the afternoon, recieved a call from University of Hong Kong, Department of Medicine, requesting me for an interview as research technician on Monday, so I changed the interview to SGS on Friday, and then HKU on Monday, which is tomorrow. Tomorrow starts work as usual at 8:30am, doing some Fair Newspaper and information guide delivering to 8 hotels around Hong kong, plus Kowloon by the taxi which has been booked by TDC-Trade and Develop Council of Hong Kong with another guy since Friday. Of course the taxi fare is being paid by the authority, then will go for interview at 2:30pm, then need to rush back to Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition centre (the place where I work) for a afternoon + night shift till 9pm. Night time will be doing central display, as i did on the first day, just that instead of unpacking and placing the products, this time is to repacking and removing the products from the shelves. I guess it will be super tiring, but at least Tues and wed I dun have to work, so its like Sat and Sun to me, and can rest.

The SGS interview went quite well. Did dual interviews (meaning 2 interviews one shot, cos its a multinational super big company). First interview was with the HR guy and then second interview was one of the lab supervisor with a girl companied him. SGS job is to work in a commercial lab environment, testing, verify and certify all sorts of commercial products using the method of instrumental analysis. They said its quite hectic and stress, asked me to think properly. Salary wont mention here, but quite good. Asked me to expect at least 2-3days OT (overtime) in a week, OT will be paid differently, and quite alot apparently. Sat work either alternatively or as half day each week. They asked me since you are going to HKU for interview, so if both jobs are offering me, which one will you choose, I was like..erm..good queston ya? Will think that question probably after tmrw interview...

Hong Kong

Yeah, in Hong Kong for exactly 10 days now. At first I was kinda lost, because many things need to settle, and now most of the things are settle now. Last night just sent an email for a temporary job, because I wanted to start something this week. Surprisingly enough I got a call this morning for an interview of that position. Working as a exhibition helper in these coming 4 days till sunday. They employed me, interview just a converstaion started with English, then Mandarin and lastly Cantonese. Introduce myself (all the places I have been during the past 10 years) then told him what I did in the uni etc. At the end did a typing test, which is super easy. So yeah, tmrw start to work temporary and pay by per hour.

As I was walking back home, suddenly recieved another call from this company called SGS Hong Kong limited. Asking me to go for an interview, but since I am working temporary as exhibition helper, so the earliest i can make it is on Monday afternoon. Very happy and excited of course, this is the job prospect that I want to do, somethiing related to what I have done so far in the Uni- Instrumental analysis (chemistry). Look forward to that interview and hope there will be some positive feedback or results.

This SGS company its a multi-national company, world leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. Headquarter in Switzerland. Their shares were first listed on Swiss exchange (SWX) in 1985, and it has only one class of shares consisting of registered shares. They also have many other branch companies around the world, (eg The states, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, China etc)

V day

Well, havent been really blogging since I went back to HK in Dec. Always copy and paste quiz and upload photos, all that I had done was just putting some few lines of words, without actually so called "composing" any articles yet. Ok, today was Valentine Day. (Why today was..is because I am typing at 2:27am 15th Feb) Nothing special today. My Valentine is so far away, somehow or rather I feel that people always celebrate V.day, which I think its not very necessary. To me, having a V.day or not, its up to the person, it is how you want your V.day to be. You can celebrate every saturday or sunday as your V.day, or actually everyday can be your V.day. It doesnt have to give flowers or roses or watever to your loved one on 14th Feb. Showing love its not just on the 14th Feb, you can always show your love everyday to your loved one. That's how I view V.day is.

It's just another day, the most significant thing is that you will find people all around the world carrying flowers, bears (dun know y bear, but not cow), chocolates on the roads, on the street, in the shopping malls, in restaurant, on the bus, in the taxi etc...Other then that, 14th Feb its just another day. One of the boring day for me, because I couldnt able to celebrate V.day since in the past 3 years, therefore V.day its not that significant to me anymore, I rather spend my $ on my anniversary as my Valentine day, than to spend it on so called 14th Feb- the V.day. But still I will dedicate my love to her and it is quite surprise that she did send me a card and I am waiting to recieve it..hmm feeling quite touched and happy though it is just a card, but it means alot to me. I guess no one can understand the pathetic feeling of being attached but yet, could not celebrate today...
