Rainstorm

Monday midnight, got thunderstom and rain so heavy till the weather department need to put up the black rainstorm at the middle of the night (which is the highest warning). Then when I woke up for work at 6am, it was lowered to yellow rainstorm warning which is lowest and inbetween there is this red rain storm warning. Still remember when I was young, I afraid of thunder, so I will hug my only moomoo puppet and use my small handmade pillow by mummy to cover my ear...

Yesterday went for another interview at Queen Mary Hospital. It last for 5 minutes only. The job prosect doesnt interest me much, its just handle blood sample, extract white blood cells, data base maintaining and extract the DNA of the blood cells.. Imagine doing that for 365 days. Salary also not that interesting as well. So I have decided if SGS want to employ me, I will just go ahead for that one. At least will be doing some test for heavy metals in commercial products in commercial labs. It will be hectic, but I remember i can work efficiently and can work quite fast, therefore it shouldnt be an issue.

Surprisingly enough, last night after logged off from work at exhibition centre (last day for household exhibition), that SGS HR guy 9the one who interviewd me) called me and asked me how's my interview. I told him so and so, then he knows I am more keen on working with them, so he said he will tell the supervisor and reply me later. So this is it, today no work till Thurs, and may be on Fri will be working for another exhibition fair. At the meantime want to do my own stuff and see how things goes, but at least working for exhibiton can earn some $$$.

Life Continues

Started work on Thursday as a exhibition helper or worker. $40 per hour, of course in HKD, not USD or Euro. First day did some moving boxes and unpacking and placing on the central display area. In the afternoon, recieved a call from University of Hong Kong, Department of Medicine, requesting me for an interview as research technician on Monday, so I changed the interview to SGS on Friday, and then HKU on Monday, which is tomorrow. Tomorrow starts work as usual at 8:30am, doing some Fair Newspaper and information guide delivering to 8 hotels around Hong kong, plus Kowloon by the taxi which has been booked by TDC-Trade and Develop Council of Hong Kong with another guy since Friday. Of course the taxi fare is being paid by the authority, then will go for interview at 2:30pm, then need to rush back to Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition centre (the place where I work) for a afternoon + night shift till 9pm. Night time will be doing central display, as i did on the first day, just that instead of unpacking and placing the products, this time is to repacking and removing the products from the shelves. I guess it will be super tiring, but at least Tues and wed I dun have to work, so its like Sat and Sun to me, and can rest.

The SGS interview went quite well. Did dual interviews (meaning 2 interviews one shot, cos its a multinational super big company). First interview was with the HR guy and then second interview was one of the lab supervisor with a girl companied him. SGS job is to work in a commercial lab environment, testing, verify and certify all sorts of commercial products using the method of instrumental analysis. They said its quite hectic and stress, asked me to think properly. Salary wont mention here, but quite good. Asked me to expect at least 2-3days OT (overtime) in a week, OT will be paid differently, and quite alot apparently. Sat work either alternatively or as half day each week. They asked me since you are going to HKU for interview, so if both jobs are offering me, which one will you choose, I was like..erm..good queston ya? Will think that question probably after tmrw interview...

Hong Kong

Yeah, in Hong Kong for exactly 10 days now. At first I was kinda lost, because many things need to settle, and now most of the things are settle now. Last night just sent an email for a temporary job, because I wanted to start something this week. Surprisingly enough I got a call this morning for an interview of that position. Working as a exhibition helper in these coming 4 days till sunday. They employed me, interview just a converstaion started with English, then Mandarin and lastly Cantonese. Introduce myself (all the places I have been during the past 10 years) then told him what I did in the uni etc. At the end did a typing test, which is super easy. So yeah, tmrw start to work temporary and pay by per hour.

As I was walking back home, suddenly recieved another call from this company called SGS Hong Kong limited. Asking me to go for an interview, but since I am working temporary as exhibition helper, so the earliest i can make it is on Monday afternoon. Very happy and excited of course, this is the job prospect that I want to do, somethiing related to what I have done so far in the Uni- Instrumental analysis (chemistry). Look forward to that interview and hope there will be some positive feedback or results.
